After figuring out we would need to get up ~4:30am Monday morning to ensure getting to Canyon de Chelly around noon *and* realizing that we are retired and not really time crunched, we decided to leave Sunday afternoon and stop in Holbrook for the night. Much the smarter move, I think. It’s only 122 miles from Holbrook to Canyon de Chelly so we’ll be much more relaxed when we get there. We can do one of the rim drives then instead of trying to crowd them both in Tuesday or skipping one.
